In the same week that WCPT sent out a call asking for us all to contribute to its future strategy (link), a paper showing that 'Even walking is more dangerous if you're black' (link) reminded me that the next WCPT congress will be held in South Africa in 2017, and this should represent a golden opportunity to show that physiotherapy has something critical to say about things that are an everyday reality for many people around the world. CPN at Physiotherapy UK 2015
Following on from a CPN presence at conferences in Australia & Mallorca earlier this year, critical physiotherapy was also on the programme at Physiotherapy UK 2015 in Liverpool last weekend. CPN members were found dotted across the programme - infusing workshops (John Hammond), panel sessions (Jenny Setchell; & Gwyn Owen) & the closing plenary debate (Roger Kerry) with critical perspectives on being/doing physiotherapy. Por qué el dolor , por qué ahora? He estado desconcertado durante algún tiempo con por qué es que el dolor crónico parece estar tanto en el enfoque de los fisioterapeutas en este momento.
