Every year the CPN runs a September campaign with a particular theme. This year we asked members to suggest inspirational critical quotes that we could turn into desktop wallpaper for your computers.
Each day throughout the month we’ll be posting up a new image file that you can download for free.
Today’s image was suggested by Karen Whalley-Hammell.

Niels Hermannsson says
Well, if approval is an expression of a choice, then given that we do seldom get to decide the options we have to choose between, a challenge which includes a choice can meet with an approval. We might not, at the time of our choosing, have chosen to have to choose between the particular options on offer, but they need not be bad ones either. Think of negotiations or of martial art like Aikido. In the latter instance, you may say that choosing to either be thrown hard or have ones joints out of kilter or on the other hand to surrender is not much of a choice. But in larger context it is between a harmless end to an attack or the violent outcome of this attack. Again, a challenge has the aspect of attitude and these can change, for the better or the worse, taking approval with them. A persistent and well sustained challenge can yield approval, otherwise change seems to become a chain of violent episodes only.
